About dbg

As a PGA Professional, Dan Bubany knew there had to be more to a career in golf than just working in a golf shop. In his heart, he knew that he belonged out on the golf course, out with his players, sharing his passion for the game and sharing in their “ah-ha” moments.

This realization is where Dan’s story really began. Truth be told, he’s loved good stories for a long time dating back to his days as an Emmy Award-winning broadcaster. But lately, stories of his own were becoming fewer and farther between as he answered phones and booked tee times.

He could feel it. “This can’t be all there is. There has to be more than just standing behind a counter in a Golf Shop.”

And there was more. On a typically hot summer afternoon in Southern Arizona, Dan gazed out the golf shop windows to where golf was being played. He could almost smell the freshly-mowed grass and imagined helping his students shoot better scores while falling in love with the game all over again.

Then Dan had his own “ah-ha” moment. He started collaborating with other coaches around the world about groundbreaking modern coaching programs, and suddenly, it hit him: the time had come. No more planning. He would take action, and in doing so, would change his life and the lives of the players he coached… forever.

In that moment, Dan sensed a renewed purpose and direction – get out of the golf shop – and when he did, guarantee results for his players in a supportive coaching environment, one that would benefit the player holistically, not just her swing.

Standing on the range telling people what to do would be a thing of the past. Starting right now, players would be guided along a pathway that was best for them and many times, in small groups out on the golf course.

A new passion for the game and for his players was instantly ignited. Unlike with driving range lessons, which often had very little lasting impact, Dan was mesmerized by images of players learning the game while playing the game and then being able to sustain their improvement.

Dan’s players appreciate his empathy, his giving them a voice and ensuring that they achieve their goals and play better than they ever thought was possible. Perhaps more importantly, they talk about a rather unique offering, one that is virtually unheard of in the golf industry: Dan guarantees his students’ success.

His success locally has led to success internationally, and Dan now shares his wisdom and guidance with other elite coaches around the world. His helping others hasn’t dampened Dan’s own goal of becoming the best coach he can be through constant and never-ending improvement.

As has been said, Dan loves sharing stories, and he would love to hear yours. If you would like to have a conversation about your game and your dreams, spend some time with Dan.
