Q: What’s a BEAT-THE-PRO 4-1 SCRAMBLE?

A: A modified scramble event consisting of five team members and two formats – a scramble and a net stroke play. On the first hole of the day, each team must select the hitting order for the individual (net stroke) format. For example, if a team starts on Hole No. 6 and elects to hit in the order of Player 2, Player 1, Player 3, Player 5, and Player 4, then Player 2 is selected as the individual. He/she will play his/her own ball and record his/her score in a circle at the bottom of the scorecard under Hole No. 6. The remaining four players will play a scramble format on the hole and record their team scramble score. The two scores will then be combined to determine the score for that hole.

On the next hole, the individual rotation continues, with Player 1 playing his own ball and the other four players playing a scramble format. Players playing the scramble may drop or place the ball within one club length of the ball being played and within six inches on the putting green, no nearer the hole. Players must keep the ball under the same conditions when dropping or placing (fairway, rough, bunker, etc.)

Teams with just three players for the scramble portion of the event will alternate hitting an extra ball from tee to green. Player 1 hits an extra tee shot, Player 2 hits an extra approach shot, Player 3 hits an extra putt, and the rotation continues until the ball is holed. A new rotation starts on each hole. Your team score must beat the team pro score to win.
